Design Your Summer of Rejuvenation

Ahhh, summer is here, I am feeling excited for a summer trip to the ocean, calm winds, hiking, yoga, paddleboarding and so many fun times with family and friends. What are you looking forward to this summer? Whatever your favorite activities, summer is the perfect season to infuse your life with vibrant energy and rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit. The longer days and warmer weather create the atmosphere that can help you unwind and reconnect with yourself. Summer is sort of like a blank canvas, ready to be painted with experiences that revitalize your soul and refresh your outlook on life.


I love to start the summer by creating what I hope to be a blooming garden, so I have beautiful flowers to gaze at all summer long. Being one with nature is one of the most delightful ways for me to rejuvenate during summer. Early mornings when the sun is just coming out and the air is cool is my ideal time to go on long walks, and my dog Ki loves it too. Waking early allows us to enjoy fresh air and set positive tone for the day. When I am not hiking in the mountains, my other favorite summer place to be is the beach. There is something about the sights and sounds of the ocean that make me feel that anything is possible. The act of grounding—walking barefoot on grass or sand has profound calming effects and promotes wellbeing. Not only does this physical activity boost your fitness, but it also provides a mental reset from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

I have found my creativity often flourishes in the relaxed atmosphere of summer when I take advantage of the season to explore artistic pursuits to bring myself inner peace. If you like to be creative too, set up a cozy corner on your patio or balcony as your personal art studio to enjoy activities like painting, crafting, or writing. I am not Picasso, and you shouldn’t worry about the outcome of your creative projects, the key to wellbeing is to focus on the process. Allow yourself to experiment with colors and ideas without the pressure of perfection. This creative freedom can lead to a deeper sense of satisfaction and a refreshed perspective on your capabilities.


What makes summer more perfect than enjoying your social connections. I love planning gatherings that celebrate the season's bounty, like a backyard barbecue with friends or a picnic in the park with a group of close friends. These moments of togetherness not only strengthen bonds but also create lasting memories. Incorporating fresh and healthy seasonal foods into social gathers promotes wellbeing while enjoying a laugh and a ocean full of smiles.


Take a few minutes each day to journal what your feel your body needs this summer and start planning the perfect recipe for revitalization. By combining relaxation, creativity, and social interaction, you are sure to craft a summer that not only rejuvenates but also enriches your life in meaningful ways.
