My Mantra - Preventative Care is Key!

Welcome to October - I would like to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month and take a moment to underscore the significance of preventive care!

With all the responsibilities on our plates, it’s easy to put health on the back burner. Between demanding work schedules and personal commitments, regular health check-ups and preventive care appointments often take a back seat. Preventive care can positively impact our overall well-being and with healthcare costs continuing to rise, being mindful of our health can help our pocketbooks too!

Here are a few reasons why preventive care is crucial:

Healthier Bodies, Healthier Employees, Reduced Costs:

Regular check-ups, screenings, and vaccinations can lead to early detection of health issues and less costly treatments. Preventive care can help avoid high medical bills and time off work due to serious illnesses – healthier employees can contribute to lower healthcare costs for both the individual and the organization. There is still time to schedule an annual exam!

Improved Productivity:

Prioritizing our health through preventive care we are more likely to be more productive. Regular check-ups can identify and address minor health concerns before they become a larger concern and reduce productivity.

Peace of Mind:

One of the less discussed but equally important aspects of preventive care is the peace of mind it brings. Taking steps to protect our health can reduce stress and anxiety. Preventive care is a proactive measure that empowers anyone to take control of their well-being.

Longer, Healthier Careers:

Emphasizing preventive care helps ensure the longevity of health and of our career. Regular check-ups and screenings can catch potential health issues early, allowing to seek treatment and maintain life and career trajectory without significant interruptions.

Family Benefits:

Preventive care doesn’t just benefit you and I; it extends to our families as well. When we are educated about the importance of preventive care, the more likely we are to encourage our loved ones to prioritize it too. This can lead to healthier families and, in turn, reducing the likelihood of needing to care for a sick family member.

Preventive care enhances our health and well-being and contributes to a healthier and more productive life overall. By investing personally in preventive care, we are safeguarding our own health and longevity, the health of our families and the success of our futures!
